I am looking at the Delkevic. I am aware that none of the slip ons really effect power. I don’t want loud. I don’t want a droning bike at cruising speed. That wears on me.
With the stock muffler I am hearing intake/engine noise and not much of a sweet exhaust note.

Just keep in mind many friends wearing hearing aids today because they didn’t care about loud noise for years and years.
This is true. I wear hearing aids today. My problem is it is hereditary though. I do need to protect what I’ve got left.

Right now its cheaper for us Canadians to buy from Europe. All my farkles came from UK. Exept my Moose racks that I had to get for the pannier I have. I will be getting one too, just for the cheap weight savings, there is a couple companies in UK, and Eu. I'm looking at no brokerage and shipping is half, and faster. weird, but it is. Dominator is popular in EU racing, 5 year guarantee db killer. Shipped and delivered for about $270-290 can. Had one for my Vstrom, they are not loud which is what I want.

You can get them for slightly less on eBay from a highly-rated distributor. Might even be the company itself, not sure.

I know they're European, still surprised the Dominator doesn't get more chatter here, particularly for the price.

Hi All,
I'm a bit confused about the Slip on not providing any HP gains.
This article states they saw roughly a 8hp gain on the dyno from using a Yoshi.

Are the gains in an area that is not noticeable ?
You're really only going to get gains if you do other mods, including a ECU flash to work with the mechanical changes you make. And even if you did get 8 hp on the dyno, you're not likely to feel any significant seat of the pants gain, IMHO. What they didn't show you is a dyno map. Peak gain in an area you rarely, if ever, see on the street.

Gains in much better sound if it’s not too loud.
Gains in looks (wow that stock Super 10 exhaust sure does look beautiful said NO ONE ever).
Gains is weight reduction.
These are the reasons I have an Arrow slip on coming soon.

I wear -29db foam earplugs so I barely hear my pipes at all. Slip-ons would be a waste. What do I care what others think my bike sounds?
However, every now and then I really open it up (typically when passing) and I am always amazed how good that sounds.

It's all a matter of preference and perspective. Only you need to be happy with it and it's a good thing!

Sound - meh, unimportant to me. form follows function.

Looks? WTF? My exhaust is behind my left pannier, which is always on the bike. If I go look, I can see the back end.

Weight reduction? Heck, I need to lose a lot more weight than the difference between the stock pipe and a slip on. I mean hey, power to weight ratio and all that, but I don't think a lighter pipe ever made a bike fast enough to win any races. ;)

I have the Yoshimura slip on. Very quiet and light. As I get older I'm liking less and lees stupid loud pipes.

A feller I know brought me two basket case Honda 750 four motorcycles a few years ago. I took the two bikes made one. the one that was running only had a four into one header on it. No mid pipe no muffler. It was open right under the front foot peg. the bike ran decent but was loud and didn't run well at all up in the RPM's. I told him it would not run right till we got a muffler on it. He looked around and couldn't find a pipe he wanted to spend money on. He took a small car turbo flow muffler welded a mid pipe on it and then put a chrome tip on it to turn the exhaust out the back. He fixed a support that bolted on the upper shock mount. He painted it black. It sounds strange but it really looked nice. Not only that I don't think I have ever seen one of those bikes run that good. It is nice sounding down low and not too loud. Then when you get after it the bike will pull hard all the way to red line and it has such a sweet sound! that pipe has been on there for at least 8 or 10 years now. It turned out to be a great slip on that actually helped that bike run better!

I've seen similar. Some with a muffler; some without, but other car exhaust parts. The ones I've heard running had "issues". I don't know if it was because of the parts being used, or the motor was just trashed.
