Remember that you need a lower support for the radiator. I haven't seen the T-Rex bars in person so don't recall if someone said they incorporate a lower radiator mount or not. If they don't, you MUST re-use the OEM drop protector on the left side to keep the lower radiator mount there. IF this is the case, it would explain the longer bolts.

Rumbux keeps the plastic OEM drop guards on both sides.

@wjfawb0 - Consider changing the bolts to studs like many have when you go back to shim things. You don't really want to damage the aluminum threads in the engine block and the engine is not fully supported when you remove those bolts.

They do include a radiator support mount, they call it an "Aluminum Fairing Holder"(well supposed to, my hardware kit got lost during shipping) just received my bars today, well built, I believe the hardware kit was probably in there but the main box was damaged beyond belief, crash bars were wrapped very well, took a good half hour to just unwrap the bars themselves,

I learned that lesson early on shipping Rumbux bars. I ended up boxing the hardware and stapling it to the inside of the main box with 3/4" carton staples. That way hardware didn't get lost with box damage. And UPS is horrible about box damage on large, light boxes.

If I remove the bolts again to work on it, I'll open up the holes in the plates and use large hard washers to spread the load under the bolt heads. So far so good. I took the S10 down a rough, steep, logging road with 2" rock and exposed solid rock over the weekend. The battlewings suck. The traction control/abs was getting worn out on the front wheel going downhill, so I turned around after a couple miles. I'll be switching to big blocks before I try that again.

I'm happy to report that the t-rex skid held up well on the few rock outcroppings and large stones it encountered. Mostly it deflected rocks kicked out from under the front tire.

@wjfawb0 - You win the understatement of the day award! :D

Big blocks are so much better off pavement. I used to keep a pair on hand just for the dirt rides when I lived in Utah. Worth the effort to swap tires. Do NOT last long on the street though!!

I was going to do that on mine if it fought me any longer but I didn’t want to crack up the finish and start rust.

I am so used to modifying parts to fit or fit better that I have multiple cans of primer, paint, epoxy paint, acetone, etc. laying around all the time. I even have zinc paint. I installed a new gate opener last night. Of course the opener module and post mounting holes don't match the hardware size, so I drilled and tapped the post and used my own hardware. I have come to find that most things are not designed to my liking.
