SKF fork seal spacer?

I would measure the thickness of your old seal. It might be a spacer to get the seal thick enough to match the OEM one. You might already know but make sure you cover the fork tube end with Saran Wrap or baggie to prevent tearing the seal during installation.

Ok I will measure, I eyeballed it and the seal looks the same thickness as the oem one, and the space is pretty thick. So my assumption is it is not needed. Hopefully someone else who has installed these seals can chime in too. In my searching I have not seen mention of extra spacers in thread about skf seals and Tenere forks.

Hello,
My SKF fork seal kit came with a plastic spacer that had a notes that said basically use it for specific applications. Do I need to use it with the Tenere?

It’s the little plastic ring in the picture.

Thanks in advance,
Mike
I use SKF seals without any spacers, been good for about 2 seasons now.
