Spring got off to a pretty rough start here in the northeast and dry riding time has been at a minimum. Riding became all the more rare when I severed my right biceps tendon while working the tractor out of the muck. Was able to ride again after a couple weeks albeit with a weak wing. Decided to get it fixed and was riding just fine up until the day of surgery two weeks ago. After the fix my hand is now paralyzed/palsy. Nerve damage. No throttle... No brake. This sucks.

Sorry to hear that Travex. Don't count yourself out just yet. Sometimes it takes months for nerves to heal and swelling can effect nerves in strange ways. I'm praying for a speedy recovery.

Very sorry to hear about the trouble with the arm/hand. Sending some good karma your way. I hope your body heals and you can get back to riding the way you used to.

If it doesn't, there are options that may work for you. A DCT bike and left throttle come to mind. It's amazing what we can adapt to.

Just saying, don't give up. And if motorcycling just isn't going to work, go buy a used Miata or other small sports car and enjoy top down driving. It's not motorcycling, but it's a decent substitute. I did that for a decade when I stopped riding for that time. It helps and can be a lot of fun too. Feel free to pm me if you have any Miata questions. I've forgotten more than most people will ever know about '90-'05 Miatae.

I to will say a prayer for you. I find that I am often trying to get things done that are at the edge or slightly beyond what I can handle. I often joke that I can compancate for age with better tools, patience, and money. What annoys me the most about aging is eye sight. Needing readers all the time and perfect lighting is a bitch. You can’t fix what you can’t see. :)

Hang in there things will get better.
Thanks for your kind words Fennellg. I commiserate with you on your points.

Thanks for those great thoughts EricV! They're all taken to heart. Hopefully DCT doesn't become a thing for me, but not opposed if it's the only way to play it. As an impatient healer I'm hoping stubbornness is a healing catalyst. Your Miata comments are sure timely. A friend stopped by yesterday in his to give me a new pair of gloves as incentive. I'll win this, but prefer to do these battles in the winter. Ride time is too short to fritter in the northeast.

Indeed, I too have struggled with the weather this season, and riding was frustrating trying to ride in 30* temps. I sending prayers and good karma and a strength to get through the healing process expediently,

I hope you recover soon, and always see the positive side of things, maybe you can work as a secondary actor until you recover your sensibility and become famous:)E4E61FFB-03DD-46A4-B88F-DC1396BD1116.gif

Hang in there Travex. A friend of mine tore his bicep tendon while weight lifting. His recovery after the surgery took several months, but he made a near full recovery. Hopefully yours goes well. I feel for you, especially after enduring this past winter. Riding season is here and you are laid up. Good luck and best wishes.
