Yes, worth getting. I also blacked out mine to eliminate glare on sunny days. Gen I. I moved them to my Gen II, but am using a Gen I screen as well w/o the adjuster. Be sure to order the correct ones for your Gen of bike.

When you have the gen 1 on a 2 you cannot lower the windshield to the bottom two positions.

Have generation 1 wings on my generation 2 Tenere , all I had to do was cut a little off the front, my windshield can be adjusted up or down just fine. The first time I cut one off with a hacksaw and that worked but I needed to cut off a little more so I tried using a air operated cutoff wheel made for cutting steel and wow that worked great.

I bought OEM. Most $ I ever spent on 2 pieces of plastic. Yes they do work. Maybe too good. I take them off in the summer. I think the tenere is a very hot bike during warm weather.

Has everyone purchased the OEM version or tried aftermarket? I found some on Ebay that look interesting. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163154029263?ul_noapp=true
Got mine from Slipscreen. They make Gen I and II winglets to OE pattern and they are heavier gauge material, come in a range of colours and with all fixtures and fittings needed. And the best bit is that they cost less than half price and they do ship to other countries.

Her is the link, https://www.slipscreens.co.uk/

....With ST weight is not that far from Gold Wing anyway :)

What scale are YOU using. 200lbs is a HUGE difference to ME. I was riding the other day, and there was a 3/4 to full value 15-20 mph side wind. I was VERY glad that she was not a 400 lb bike. Because, even at a 900 lb combined weight, she was moving around pretty good.

EDIT: The 2018 'Wing is 800+ lbs, the 2017 is 900+ lbs. That's 30-50% more, depending on the year of the 'Wing. That IS far from the Tenere's weight....in my opinion. :)
