How about a simple picture thread to compare what's out there and help others like me decide what set up to choose.

Post up your pics: Side view, Rear View, Bag Sizes and brand of mounting rack you are using.

Similar to a current thread on ADV, so I'll copy from there.

Nelson Rigg 850 side bags and Givi Maxia 52 liter top box. The duffel makes a good back rest with the light but bulky tent, ground roll, sleeping bag, rain gear, and tennis shoes.

This link has reviews and prices on the panniers:

Used the left hand rail upside down on the right to keep the right bag away from the tire and hanging straight.

Givi Trekkers and Givi 36L topcase. I like how easy the panniers load and unload off the bike, like carrying couple of suitcases. They are 33L each. SW-Motech quick release racks that I modified to fit better.

What mod did you do to the racks to fit better?

What is the mounted width of the bags mounted?

I bent/twisted all mounts and ended up cutting 1/2" out of the upper front leg on left rack to make it tighter to the muffler. The angle of the pannier looking at it from the side was different from left to right, so tried to make the two racks align better. I understand SW-Motech has since modified their racks.

37-1/4", that is the black plastic ribs which standout some from the actual pannier.

I love me some trekkers! Seems like they're really good 'bang for the buck.' I think I'll get something more square-shaped than the Maxia you have on top though.

Yeah, kind of a mix match, but it has been with me for last 3 bikes and carries all my possibles, plus.

Nelson Rigg 850 and Givi V46.

Did a short 1469 mile trip last week and the set up worked great! Nelson Rigg side bags were only ~$100 and used without any other hardware or mounts: nice, cheap and good looking solution ::012::
