Beat that horse all you want but the question is relevant. I second the dislike of the OEM panniers and sold mine on.

I'm awaiting delivery of the Bumot side panniers. I received the top box and liked it a lot, in fact, the top box is identical to the Hollan Nomada Pro shown above but with one latch on the rear instead of two on the side. Mount is the same to my eye. Wish I'd known about those as I think the dual latch stuff on the Bumots are overkill.

How the HELL is one supposed to make a decision on panniers?! The more research I do the less sure I am!!! :'(

I really like the look of the OEM, but the number of complaints doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy. Second choice is Givi outbacks... I think.

I know, I know ::002::
I know it's hot and all, but see if you can find any local rides or ride nights. If there's a chance of seeing several Adventure bikes in one place you might get to lay your eyes on some luggage in person. ::26::

Posted these up elsewhere..... they suit the bike and are narrower than the handlebars.

DamMechanic I really like those bags! I just wish there wasn't a big plate left on the bike when you take the bags off.
I have a smaller pair of Wolfman's that I bolt onto the side plates when I'm not out camping. It would be nice if some built a better box to go the the stock Tenere pannier mounts.

Finally fitted my ArdCase panniers onto a set of Hepco quick release racks. They are a couple of cm's wider than the bars either side but thats no biggie for me. I plan on using them on longer trips (once or twice a year) with the wife when camping, and switching to OEM panniers at other times. Takes about 20mins to switch them over.

When I got my S10 I knew that I wanted Holan panniers for the bike.
Problem was that Holan didn't produce a rack that fitted my specific model.
In the spring I made contact with Tomek who owns Holan, and we agreed that if I came by with my bike, he would make a rack for me - and make it worth my while.

Tomek checking out the work on the rack:

Here are the Givi Trekker Outback cases I put on over the weekend. So far I love them. Great quality.

By the way I don't suppose anyone knows how to get a replacement ball bearing that is part of the top case lock mechanism?? I was swapping out the lock to match the two side case locks and unfortunately the ball bearing fell out, hit my foot and went flying somewhere. I spent two hours on my hands and knees looking for it. :mad: ::010::. I was able to get it to work OK with some modifications, but I guess it would be nice to have the lock work as intended and not have a hack right out of the gate!

Will that top case fit on an Altrider mount?
The box hold down parts can be taken from their mount and be cut into an Altrider rack, a few simple tools, drill, hole saw, screw driver. BUT, their mounting rack for their tail box is an awesome rack, beefier than the Altrider, great lines, not as much surface area tho, will work fine as a stand alone rack. And inexpensive to boot.
