That is quite a haul, amazing how much the bikes will take! I have not gone off-grid into the wilderness yet so food, fuel and recovery are never a problem. Having just been away camping for 5 days I do need to increase my capacity for a camping stove (Trangia) etc. I would love some Mosko racks and bags but they are not available at present and the weight of them alone unpacked seems REALLY heavy to me

In the U.K. choice seems limited to mainly GIVI stuff, it's not the best but is relatively light and cheap and may have to do for now...

When I go out on my bike, can’t forget the oil. 2.5 gallons of Rotella. Rack mounted for those short jaunts, pannier for the longer trips.:rolleyes:680C12B2-D337-443F-9578-91CE9ADDC1AE.jpeg654130C5-5E8C-484A-9EDB-0FB639FED8E3.jpeg680C12B2-D337-443F-9578-91CE9ADDC1AE.jpeg654130C5-5E8C-484A-9EDB-0FB639FED8E3.jpeg

@ballisticexchris why do you carry extra fuel and oil all the time? You’re not always so far out are you? I can see the first aid kit but the rest of it..

Only on trips that take me off the grid like the Arizona Strip, Mojave Desert, etc. Some places I ride my bikes it's very desolate. I also keep extras to help out fellow riders I might run across. Even on my dual sport I keep spare fuel and oil on hand in my single liter fuel bottles.

It does not take up that much space as you think. It's when you are carrying all the must haves on top of camping gear that the bike gets loaded more than I would like.

Arizona Strip and Navajo Nation land are very unforgiving and a long way from any kind of help.

This is what my bike looked liked for fully self contained travel before heading out on a 1400 mile ride. Parts of it were over 100 miles from the nearest service and over 75 miles from pavement.

I can recommend Metal Mule cases and racks. Absolutely bulletproof. And reassuringly expensive..

Nothing fancy here :-/ This rig was for a 10 day, 3,352 mile trip. All camping except for 2 hotel stays (on the way there and back). I'm sure I would've found what else I needed the hard way (Lo!) but here's a list of the large/large-ish items that I packed in the OEM side cases, Tusk 33 liter duffel bag and SW Motech City tank bag (total contents weight for cases and duffel was 47.8 lbs):

• 2 person tent (incl. all required equipment)
• Inflatable sleeping pad
• Sleeping bag
• Camp chair
• Dehydrated meals
• 10" x 5" bag of snacks (protein bars, raw nuts, other healthy snacks)
• Two 32 oz. stainless steel water bottles
• Camelbak Mil Spec Crux 1.5 hydration bladder (set inside tank bang)
• Flat tire kit
• Tire inflator
• 3-5 person first aid kit
• Aux tool/emergency kit (fuel transfer hand pump, JB Weld, etc.)
• 2" x 6"block of wood
• Can of DuPont no-rinse cleaner (microfiber towels and rags)
• Bike half-cover
• Rain suit (two piece)
• 2 additional pairs of gloves
• 5 days of clothes (incl. jacket, hiking sneakers, pants, shorts & extra sets of moto base layers)
• Bath kit (incl. camp towel, bath sponge, Dead Downwind bar soap, river wash stuff, etc.)
