Should I or shouldn't I?

Yesterday, while riding through Sonoma, CA on Enrico, the Super T, I was confronted with one of those siren-song "should I or shouldn't I?" questions. This one involved a former love of mine, a BMW R-65.

I suspect others of us have experienced a similar circumstance.

I've posted a little story about it on my blog and posted a link to it here: https://thechurchoftheopenroad.blogspot.com/2018/03/rebuilding-bmw.html

Enjoy and ride safely, everyone...

I totally understand. As somebody who has chronic MBS and 3 in the garage now, there is a pretty red Guzzi Norge that keeps calling to me.

Make sure any Guzzi has the roller tappet followers. Earlier designs had big issues. Worth taking off the valve cover to check.

The Norge I was looking at sold before I got there. There'll be another.

I had my first long ride on it today and I really love it. 190 miles through rural Colorado. Amazing torque and acceleration. Was riding behind a hay truck at 25 mph; downshifted a gear or two and rolled on the throttle. Was in triple digit territory before I knew it.

First pic is my wife and my bikes in the driveway before we left this morning.

The second photo was taken in Silvercliffe, CO, looking west at the Sangre de Cristo mountains.
