Yes, have been on for almost 4 years, chrome underneath looks impeccable. Have been through rough terrain. I can only recommend these (Originial Shock Sox brand).

I have only used the Shock Sox on my Beta and KTM. They work fantastic. Just make sure to clean them as part of your normal maintenance at oil change time or after a dusty weekend of riding. Before you install them, wipe your fork tubes down with WD40 and a clean rag. Then soak the inside of the socks with WD40 as well before installing them. This will keep the fork tubes looking really nice and prevent junk from getting on the seals.

I used to run them dry on my KTM and my suspension guy chastised me because the chrome was wearing off the forks.

After reading several reports of leaking fork seals after riding the Dempster, I took the advice of several people that had no issues using fork protectors. It was very cheap insurance and after all the mud and dust on the trip...very clean! This was taken in Dawson City before washing the bike. Shock Sox.jpg

I use the 6” length for USD forks, they work great. Personally, I would not use WD 40 or other oil on them; it would tend to attract and hold dust/dirt on the inside next to the fork tubes. I’ve used them on two Tenere’s for about 60,000 miles total. 66D10675-CE8C-4B16-9EDD-F3759D5E0D2B.jpeg

6 inch Shock Sox for me. I went with this brand because it only takes a few second to remove or install.

I remove mine every time I wash the bike, spray off the dirt/dust and hang to dry.
