I purchased the Shad SH-48 top case for my 2014 S10 in the fast blue color. My requirements were a case that would hold 2 full size helmets, have a very nice back pad for my wonderful wife, be easily removable, and be reasonably priced. I purchased it from Twisted Throttle, and it came to my house quickly and without any issue. The luggage rack on the S10 is nice looking but not robust. I did not want to spend more money on a luggage rack, so I purchased a 1/4" aluminum plate and cut out my own. I designed the plate to be larger than the stock and made more for the secure attachment of the Shad case. I have not completed the sanding and painting of the rack, but wanted to mount it all up to ensure the package worked as desired.
The is nice looking, and the quality id very good. Two full face large helmets fit inside, as will a pair of gloves...but not much else. I have put my Bell RS-1 and my pants in the case without issue. It fits more than expected for weekend jaunts if you pack light for one person. This model has the Shad double back rest which my wife loves. She says it is very comfortable and allows us to ride together much longer than without it. I really like their locking mechanism. With the key turned one way, you can open the case without the key, which is perfect as I commute with a computer bag. I can get off the bike, take my helmet off, put it in the trunk, take my bag out, lock it and go into work. My wife and I have done some picnics and being able to get into the case without a key is great. Turn the key the other way and the case comes right off and acts just like a piece of luggage. Very nice, within 5 seconds I can take the whole case with me into the hotel or wherever I am going. Overall I really enjoy this case. I think for $250 it was well worth it. ::013::
