My Sena voice control doesn't like my Welsh accent either, I need to perfect an American accent!

Just installed my new Packtalk black. It’s streets ahead of my old 7 year old SHO1 and was easier to install. One thing I did notice when stripping out the old intercoms was that where the wires curl under the bottom of the helmet, the insulation on both had worn away and exposed bare wire! Presumably due to always placing the helmet down on its base. Looking at the new packtalk, thats going to be a risk too. So I need to find a good solution to protect the wires this time.

What’s the sound quality like? I’ve just realised my old intercom is 7 years old! I’m hoping things have really moved on since then.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier....I've just come across this question

I think the sound quality is good but I can only compare it to my old Cardo Scala Q1

So far I've only used it for sat nav directions, telephone calls and music. I've not tried communicating with other riders

Mike

Edit Just noticed that you've bought a Packtalk. I hope it works for you

Had my first chance to really test out my new Palktalk Black today. I didn’t use my Satnav so it was just phone and music. I usually wear earplugs when riding but today I didn’t. Very impressed with sound quality and volume and I’m sure I’ll be able to hear it just as well when I’m wearing ear plugs. But for me the most impressive thing was the voice control. It was fast reacting and precise every time and I love the fact that it will say “hey Siri” so you can have voice control of your phone too. Made a couple of calls that way and it worked faultlessly. Haven’t tried linking to satnav yet but so far very pleased with it.

I’m not sure if answering the phone can be done by voice? I think you just press any button. Have you tried the other functions like “hey Cardo radio on”?

To answer a call:
● Tap or or , or tap the Control Wheel, or say Answer. To reject a call:
● Press
To ignore a call:
or or for 2 seconds.
● Roll the Control Wheel outward, then inward, or say Ignore. To end a call:
● Tap or , or tap the Control Wheel.
3.2.1 SWITCHING BETWEEN TWO CALLS ON TWO MOBILE PHONES
Your PACKTALK BLACK can toggle between two calls on two mobile phones when both mobile phones are paired to your unit.
To toggle between two calls on two mobile phones (without disconnecting either call):
● Tap twice.
To disconnect the current call and switch to the other call:

Looks like you’re right. It should answer on voice too. I haven’t tried that yet.

I had exactly the same problem

They 'Hey Cardo' instruction is for music and radio. To make a call the instruction is 'Hey Siri' (iphone) or 'Hey Google' (Android)

I have the Cardo connected to my iPhone and Sat Nav (BMW Nav 6 but it's really a Garmin)

Eventually I found out the name of the importers (pama.co.uk) who are based in Stockport.

I was contacted by rep who gave me his name and telephone number to contact him for further advice. When I spoke to him, because I was fairly local, he invited me to go over to meet him.

He spent about 45 mins going through all my settings and explaining how they work. I could not get the voice recognition to work (probably due to my Northern accent)

I still don't find it to be perfect but it's very good most of the time.

I don't think it's fair to publish his name and contact details on an international forum so I've sent you a PM with his contact details
