I decided to sell the Akrapovic muffler that came with the the 2012 Super Tenere I bought last month. Why? Well, the stock unit sounds fine to my ears, and at 6'3" and close to three bills, saving a few pounds here and there, or gaining a few more horsepower with the Akrapovic really isn't a concern. I'd rather apply the funds from its sale to other farkles or perhaps a custom seat. The bike it was on has 17,400 miles, and the stock unit looks about as used as the Akrapovic, so I would guess about half the 17k would be close in estimating how much use its had. Structurally it looks perfect to my eyes, no dents or dings. Cosmetically there is one rub mark and a scratch that can be seen in the photos I've attached if one looks closely. They're both on the back (bike) side of the muffler. It also has some dark "freckles" that may be able to be polished out. I didn't put much effort into cleaning those off for fear of damaging the finish, and they're pretty much hidden once the can is installed anyway. There are also some areas I'd describe as a hazy discoloration. Again, a close inspection of the pictures will show the extent of that.
