Hi,

Looking for information on what aftermarket seats will fit with the altrider rear rack.
I have hard Sargent seats which fit, but are extremely uncomfortable. I also purchased a pair of touratech seats but the passenger seat hit the rack and wouldn't actually fit.
What after market seats are people using who have the same rack as me? Corbin appear to be a good seat, but will they actually fit?
Yes I have considered changing the rear rack, but the same issues exist regardless of which aftermarket rack I run.

Cheers

Seat Concepts
I have the front and rear seats with the carbon fiber cover. My wife and I both are very pleased with this seat and can ride all day.
Both the rider and pillions seats are more level and wider than the stock seat. I also like the carbon fiber cover a lot more than stock.

They will install it for you on your seat pan or you can do it yourself. I ordered just the foam and cover and installed myself. I got a pneumatic stapler as they suggested and I would also recommend that if you do it yourself. I did not have a problem doing it myself and it turned out good.
See the FAQ - Q: Can I install a Seat Concepts foam and cover kit myself?

I ran the smooth end of a drill bit around the edge to check clearance.
Between the back of the seat and the AltRider - You have about 3/8" clearance at the tightest spot.
Between the side of the seat and the grab bars - You have about 1/4" clearance at the tightest spot.

Check out Terry's Custom seats. I have a Seat Concepts and Terry's front seat. Terry's is a bucket seat and I find it alot better. It was $250 for the front. He had a core seat pan. So you can keep riding and no down time. I have a Corbin for my zrx1200. Its a good shape but its kinda hard. Not a seat I would want to sit on for a long time. Seat concepts on the right. I had a sheep skin gel pad velcroed on it. YMMV

Thanks for the replies, I had the seat concepts seats on my last bike and they just didn't work for me.
