I changed to SBS pads in my Zx14r a while back and was very impressed with them so I decided to swap to them on the S10 too. The outgoing pads were OEM tokico pads so I guess they were the originals although the bikes done about 14k Miles now. The difference was immediate. Even though the new SBS pads have not yet bedded in they provide much better feel and control. They do not provide immediate hard bite which means you don’t end up grabbing the brake and then letting off pressure like you do with EBC HH pads as they heat up. Instead you can build up brake pressure in a much more controlled way and keep it stable. I considered Brembo but they are now made in China and quality seems to have suffered.

I put SBS in my V Strom and the difference was noticeable immediately. They will be going on my S 10, once my factory pads wear out.

Hello Matt

I currently run EBC HH in the front of mine, which I find a big improvement over standard and TBH am happy with them. I’m about to order a new set, but may well give the SBS pads a try.

Do you have the pad code for the fronts, please. Also where did you source them?

Thanks
Boris

Hi Boris, I got mine from PFM Brakes on the Isle of Man. Sorry I can’t remember the part number but give them a ring and speak to Walt there. He is very knowledgeable and knows the guy who started EBC as a budget range years ago! Walt also supports many of the racing teams that race on the Isle of Man. My pads arrived very quickly. I fitted PFM disks and SBS pads on my zx14r and the results were amazing but the combination of the oem Galfer disks on the S10 and SBS pads seems to be just as impressive. I used EBC HH pads on my zx14r but the pads are very hard on the disks and they ended up warping mine. That’s why I changed them for PFM disks.
