Man that is just way more stuff than I want on a bike. I am much more simplistic I guess.
You want sat radio on your bike and it doesn't get much more simplistic than a small radio like shown with FM output so you don't have to have wired input to your helmet and you don't need Bluetooth dongle plugged into your radio. That and the GPS are only on my bike for long trips when I want to be able to have a variety of options. The Ram mounts make installation and removal very easy.

What kind of output does this have? In other words, how would a person listen to this, wired earplugs, or does it have a FM output?
My guess is you still need to connect it physically to some sort of amp....headphones or speakers etc. a lot of HD's have stereos with speakers. I'm guessing it doesn't have an FM transmitter built in but it may. For almost $300 I think my solution is better since you can pick up the portable car units cheap. That being said I pulled my off already and will just use my phone.....its easier and less clutter. Pandora is free and almost as good once you get your preferences set.

That is interesting, that is more what I was thinking. I actually was thinking more on the line of something walkie talkie size to put in your pocket with ear buds...like an Ipod or mp3 player.

I usually have a mess of high tech gizmos stuffed into some bag, pannier, or pocket, no matter where I am. I'm "on the grid" 24/7.

But I rarely have any of it mounted or plugged in.

If you see me bobbing my head and pattin my feet while I'm riding, chances are I'm singing like a fool in my helmet too. A cappella, I might add. :)

I've been known to belt out a few a cappella Black Sabbath tunes myself. I've never been capable of listening to music when I ride, so if there's music going on it my helmet it's self generated...and very, very bad. Out of consideration for my wife, I don't do it when the bluetooth is on.

I know nothing about the HD unit, just found it on a search. I suspect it's got an audio out line... even if you needed to run that thru a MixIt, it wouldn't be too hard to make work.

I've not seen anything as small and portable as what you would like. But you can put a lot of songs on a MP3 player or Ipod. That's a pretty easy item and moves with you, no tether to the bike.

I have been through bunches of sat. radio units.

If it sits in a cradle it will take a crap sooner rather than later. Direct plug ins work best but they are getting harder to find.

Current set up is a bluetooth am/fm/wb Jensen 910 with aux port. 665 is hardwired to it and the Jensen connects to my sena headset.

Most often the 665 is not on the bike so that leaves me with local stations or small mp3 or my phone in the tank bag connected to the Jensen.

That is what I am talking about camber. I have looked for new XM2go or the inno that was mentioned and those are all discontinued models. I am not saying there are none available, but they are discontinued so I am curious if there is something new or is it all smart phone based?

Does it require internet access to use on your phone cause that will not work for me.

I am ok if it is hard to use in gloves or bright light....so is my phone.
I am just tired of the Ipod thing and have stopped using it. I prefer my XM in the family truckster and was trying to find a small unit that is not discontinued or worked through the internet.
I always used Sirius until my Roady gave up. I went to Slacker Radio on my iPhone and built a station and added a lot of content. You can then download the channel to your smart phone and play from the device rather than streaming. They will let you do this for 30 days. After that it will cost about $3.00 a month to be able to download your station to your device and play it without having to stream the content. This will allow you to play your station with no cell or wi-fi signal.

Did a quick search and found this topic. I am looking to have SiriusXM while on the Tenere. Using the Sirius App isn’t really an option as I travel through some pretty poor LTE data areas.
was looking at something like the Garmin 665 of I can find one. Anyone got any other great ideas?

Thanks
John

This is what I have. Simple angle mount to a Ram. Been on three bikes so far. It is an auto version, and when it rains, a plastic sandwich bag goes over it. I have the speaker wire routed under the tank, and comes up between the tank and seat, where I plug in my earbuds.
