Wow, that's nasty.
As mentioned I have a full rotopax attached to my right pannier, and fill the pannier with clothes when travelling and haven't had any problems.
I have to push down on my panniers to get them latched on, compressing the lower mount rubber block, I wonder if your lower mount is too low and not carrying any load?

Wow it’s busted ! I have the Yamaha luggage and Fortunately It ain’t broke yet, hard to believe Yamaha put out such lousy luggage, they must have a contract for a million sets or they would have scrapped them a long time ago.

Yeah they are garbage to say the least. So far my dealer has said Yamaha Canada will not stand behind this product and warranty it, even though it was only two weeks out of warranty.... I emailed Yamaha Canada myself and they have said they will look into it... I won't hold my breath.

People badmouth the OEM panniers but I've been on the S10 forum since 2011 and this is the first time I've heard of them breaking like that. Usually people bitch that they broke after they dumped the bike hard, which any OEM pannier will do. And some aluminum boxes as well.

How hard is your dealer going to bat for you? Normally a mfg will do a good will fix when it's just out of warranty and the issue is clearly not the owner's fault.

Yeah I was hoping that they would go to bat for me and make this happen. More over I've waited since the end of June or beginning of July for a response... I thought wow all summer the entire peak riding season here with a pannier strapped on my bike because of a broken mount...

Hmmm....

I just found this thread via the Forum Search as I too am finding inconsistency with the temp reading on the 2012 with 35,000 kms.

I remember the bike running at a constant 75*C regardless of the weather. Lately, my normal temp settles at 78-80 but does have variations anywhere from 72-82*C on a normal day with constant speed, temperature, etc.

How difficult was the thermostat to replace? I was going to try this first, followed by the sensor second.

On one ride last year, my temp would swing up and down between 62*C to 82*C, back and forth. I noticed on a 30*C day my temps run around 78*C. My last ride was around 6*C air temp, coolant temps were running 82-84*C.

Coolant has been changed as per the owners manual, air has been bled, bled, and bled again. No damage to the rad and no bug guts or mud affecting cooling.
