There is some controversy over if longer hydraulic lines are required when installing the 2" Rox Risers. I do not wish to debate this & encourage everyone to do what they are comfortable with. This is just to demonstrate that they can be installed with oem lines & used (30+K kms on & off-road) with full lock rotation & no added stress to the hydraulic or electrical cables if care is taken in the install & the bars are not adjusted behind the center line of the mount. An option is to install longer hydraulic lines.

I added a few steps to the Altrider Instruction Video that helped with obtaining maximum relaxation of the oem hydraulic lines & cables for gen 2 bikes which have re-positioned, rubber damped bar clamps up & back about 10mm, but use the same length cables as the gen 1 bikes.

• I made my own installation kit & modified the Altrider instructions by taking it a step further…(rubber hose clamps, fuel line, zip ties)
• Step #4: I used 1 or 2 sizes up for rubber cable clamp to allow more movement
• Step #6 I used longer length of fuel line on clutch line + added fuel line to the brake line transition around the curve of the steering head on the right side (not part of instruction video)
• Step#8: reinstalling handlebars is not as simple as demonstrated because it is possible to not have the l & r riser square to each other because they move independently…it took me a few tries to ensure the risers were square to each other & the bar grips sit in the same plane…i.e. not 1 grip further forward or backward relative to the other.
• Step #9 both metal cable guides require being bent up & back (see pic below)

Additional slack can be achieved by moving the mirror mounts in & hand grips inboard slightly.

The bars will be restricted in full range of motion IF mounted behind the center line of the clamps with this modification & oem lines/cables…..on my bike the max back adjustment (toward rider) is just behind the center line of the clamps, any further would be too close for my 185 cm (6' 1"), 83 cm (33" ) reach body with seat in low position…I adjust them slight forward of the center line for the best balance of seated & standing riding.

The correct part is #1R-P2Pps10A for gen 2 bikes, Rox also makes an anti-vibration (gen 2 already has this feature) & std version for gen 1 bikes which have different mounting clamps (straight vs the angled gen 2 clamps).

The difference in comfort, particularly for taller riders is noticeable :)

Nice job explaining everything !

yes longer lines are quite a bit more time to install and crazy expensive.

i plan on changing something on mine but not exactly sure what yet.
