My Filipina wife did not like OFAH (same with Fawlty Towers) at first. It is quite common to find that Asians find self-deprecating humour uncomfortable because of the loss-of-face thing. Once she "got it" and understood laughing at yourself is ok, she grew to love it though and often comes up with lundun expreshuns that make me chuckle...
