Anyone have their rims powder coated??

Just wondering if there were any issues with the process. Sometimes aluminum can be very porous after sandblasting due to the casting process.....sometimes not. If the hoops are forged then I wouldn't worry about it but not sure if they are cast or forged......

The hoops on mine do not appear to be cast. The black coating on mine appears to be e coat. If it is, then it may be possible to debride the surface without going to bare metal metal and then coat directly over it.

Since these are tubeless, be sure they mask the bead before blasting, debriding or coating.

Where behind the cheddar curtain are you? I am a few years out of the industry but If you do not have a coater, I may be able to suggest one

I'm surprised that Sierra did not mention mine...........

Yes, I had them powder-coated.
The company that Used chemically stripped them, did not blast them.
No issues with the process, other than to say that the company that I used sat on them for two weeks causing me to be in a time-crunch and having for them to "Rush" the job at the last minute.
De-lacing and Re-lacing the wheels was not an issue, just time consuming. I made sure to label the piles of spokes to know which position they go in, and took pictures of the lace-pattern before taking them apart (very helpful)
