I know the road(s)... Ill be doing that loop AGAIN ! ::008::

Post it up man......

Ok so far I have a few hard, tight ATV type tracks. They can be challenging, especially if the water is up or if there was a recent rain. Most of what I have is county and forrest road, groomed and not a lot of clay. More gravel and rocky, the water crossings should be good. Typically I mark away around if they are not concrete bottom. But if there is moss.......yep they get slick. So right now I have worked up 4 good loops and a route to the Big Cat Refuge.

What do you need to know about tracks and GPS. Well I keep mine under 500 points, I have a 60CSX and that is a limitation. They are GDB file but you can change them to GPX and load them to the most any GPS. I will provide them, you need to look them over and be responsible for loading them yourself. I don't know everything there is to know about Garmin and BC or Mapsource but I know a few things and I will help out. I mark gas and food, nice over looks and whatnot. I typically ride 250 300 miles a day unless there is a lost of asphalt. Then I ride more, most loops have a place to eat and get fuel. CARRY CASH. A LOT OF PLACES DONT TAKE CREDIT CARDS AND AN OUT OF STATE CHECK????? NO WAY. There is an ATM in Jasper and one north of the hub, also beer and alcohol just north as well.

When you see them most of the route is blue,if there is a red section, hard or harder. Bypass are green, more than one option I make a different color.

If there is a low turn out I will email them out to the folks that sign up, right now the track has been downloaded more than there are members signed up

any feedback?
I can't see much on the jpg map of a route, as it is pretty small. I can't open the word doc to do anything with it. If you are posting DS routes or tracks, I wouldn't have any use for them anyway, as I don't plan on doing DS riding on my S10. Last year we had a blast riding those fantastic twisty roads with a little unpaved roads thrown in and out little group plans on doing the same this year.

Need a few volunteers to D/L and check it out. Give me some feedback.

Change the file to .GDB or to .GPX

Fred this is a GPX or GBD file. After you d/l it you need to change the extension so you can use it. It is used when folks load tracks to their GPS. If you not a GPS user on the S10 then this would not apply to ya

I am a GPS user, but the link above is for a Word Doc and Word opens it as gobbledeegook. I can work with a gdb or gpx file, but I don't know how to convert Word to gpx or gbd..

I can upload a .GPX or .GDB so I made it a .doc file.....................to change it after you doing a D/L rename it XXXXX.gpx or XXXXXX.gdb. sometimes when saving it you will get a prompt and you can make the changes there

I was able to load the file into Garmin BaseCamp v 4.4.7 by changing it to a "GDB" file. Once there, I was able to "Create Route from Selected Track" then load them on my Garmin 660.

What kind of noob rating would you give these routes?

all the tracks given have been ridden by me on my ST. Most everything is a Forrest road or wide enough for a SxS. If there is a high water/slick bottom there will be a bypass. Usually my bypass color is green. If there is something that is hard I make it red. Now I do have a few folks that are wanting hard/tight single track, they will be noted. The only problem I see is if you get on a road that has no gravel, clay or dirt, a good rain can make it slick and challenging. The water crossings I usually walk out if it looks deep, you can drop a bike in 10 or so inches of water and cause damage.......

You ready to ride? You wont be disappointed.
