Same here Jim. Did you get the pics you were after?
I got most of the pics I wanted and quite a few more.. The one I could not get, was the one for Moto Tag. ::010::
Here in North Texas there are not many mountains for a marked overlook.. ::025:: I'm going back out after the rain and find something.. ::26::

I'm new to the adventure touring, but broke my cherry in Colorado. Up the million dollar highway, Gunnison, Steamboat Springs, Estes Park down through Wolf Creek Pass and Pagosa Springs. 1400 miles in all. Had a bit of dirt fun, but mostly tarmac. S10 ran very well and got smoother as I reached the 2500 odometer reading. The Jesses performed flawlessly and I highly recommend them. Averaged about 49 mpg through the mountains. Here's a few pics, put it on your bucket list of places to go. Hell, even the farming communities I traveled through on my way back were awesom. No camping, just hotels; can't wait for the arizona trail to be opened, will be the first camp off the bike.

Hey everybody,
Just got back home from a 62 day, 13 000 mile loop around North America. I traveled solo on my 2014 S-10 from Montreal to BC, then south down the coast. I spent 2 weeks in California, then Arizona, Colorado then east. I'm already planning my next trip to Colorado - what a great place to ride!
I completed the trip in Tennessee and West Virginia, including a ride on the famous Tail of the Dragon.
The bike was flawless: powerful, comfortable and really great for long distances.
I documented my trip including pictures on a blog:http://one-less-bucket.blogspot.ca/

Start new threads for your rides. This thread is basically a place holder.

Hey there,
would it be a good idea to divide in sub-sections:

U.S. & Canada
Central and South America
Europe
Middle East
Asia
Africa
Australia

I like that idea, would make it easier to learn more about those areas. I'll bring it up to Venture and Checkswrecks, and see about adding that to the sub sectioning of the tech forum.

I agree that it belongs in Tall Trails, I was referring to adding the regional sections at the same time as doing the tech forums.

It's been a few years since my big Alaska trip (June, 2012) and I wanted to get a little exploring in before back-to-school for the kids. I decided to head east over Superior and see how far I could make it in my allotted 11 days, since I've never been that way before.
10 nights - 7 camping, 2 motel and 1 picnic table night in suit/helmet
4700 miles and the Super T. was perfect (she's just rolled over 31.5 thousand miles and still runs and looks like new!) ::012::
the route:

faithful riding buddy:

Terry Fox memorial near Thunder Bay:

shipyard in Maine:

very cool store in upstate New Hampshire:

ice cream at the Ben & Jerrys factory:

Lake Champlain history session:

Niagara:

did you know we have a perfect place to re-heat a burrito when you get to your campsite?

Henry Ford museum - Dearborn (another hobby of mine):

Chi-Chimaun ferry to Manitoulin Island:

... a very enjoyable ride!

What a coincidence - I was on that ferry the very next day on a similar ride. Mine started on the Alabama gulf coast.
