Replaced my Rear Disc

I replaced my rear wheel brake disc after 142,000km. But at this point, the ABS indicated kept coming on especially when I go over a bumpy patch. After replacing the disc the ABS still intermittently coming on and off.

I then thought it might be the neck bearings. I had these checked only to discover they were fine. I then check the front bearings and found them to be the culprit. Once I replaced them, the problem went away.

I thought I should let folks know that this can trigger the intermittent flashing of the ABS indicator.

If the bearing is bad enough to wobble on the axle the abs ring will get closer and further from the sensor causing issues. Woulda thought you would have felt the wobble...

I did feel the wobble but always thought it was the neck bearings causing the problem.

In South Africa it is 2010 model. I have ridden it every day since I bought it. I have not replaced it because there is nothing wrong with it. However, I think that it is a good idea to begin to replace parts as I go. ::013::
