Coming back from a week long mission trip s/w of St Louis. Our team stopped at the Cozy Dog Diner on old Rt 66 in Springfield, IL. A '15 red S10 and an Africa Twin pulled in right after us. Talked to Rick and Tom. They highly recommended a Loose Nut ride in Missouri the first week in Nov.

Coming from the UK, I can't say I ever fell in love with the ubiquitous Corn Dog, but other food is available. When we did Route 66 HD style a while back, we took a detour to the HD Museum, so came down from Milwaukee, via Madison & B-N, arrived late in Springfield & ended up eating at Bob Evans, just because it was next to our Hotel (since closed I think, full of black faced contractors at the time, working at the coal Power Station next to the Freeway). It's a shame we didn't find this place. We did St.Louis & the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge next day & have fond memories of Carlinville, the welcoming townsfolk & those old, pretty original Sears homes. Happy days.

I know those 2 gentlemen. I live an hour south of Springfield and they bought both of those bikes at my local dealer, Niehaus Cycle Sales in Litchfield, IL. It is Tom's second S10. Rick had one of the pre order 2012's and now is on his second Africa Twin. I'll tell them that you mentioned them.holligl said:

Yes, I know justbob very well. You got a good bike when you bought that one. I think another Adventure Day and ride would be good idea. I'll talk to Brad Niehaus about that. I have taken some of my local friends on a 125 mile adv/back road route starting and leaving from the shop and it is surprisingly fun, considering it is in IL. ;D Give me a shout anytime you are riding thru this area and I would be glad to take you on that route.
