Approaching 7000 miles on original Bridgestone tires and need replacing soon. Looking for recommendations on 90/10 type of tire.

I have thought about this conundrum every since I bought my 2015 about a year ago. I have used the pr4 on my fz1 for the past 3 tire changes. Absolutely love them. Getting 15k plus mi between changes. Can't ask for a better tire wet or dry. I know it's a 100% tire but have decided I'm going to use them on my S 10. If I do finally get a wild hair and decided to do some serious dirt riding I'm willing to get a second set and change them as needed. Maybe I'll get faster at swapping them out when needed LOL.

Have a look at both of these brand new to the market 90/10, 80/20 tires;
the Metzeler Karoo Street and the Continental Trail Attack 3.

I just mounted Conti’s TKC 70’s. I’ve only run a tank full on them but really like them so far.
Rebates being offered too along with a couple of others.

I have read reports of the front scalloping but I’ve had good luck with varying the psi to manage this on other tires, we’ll see on these.

Over two s10's I keep coming back to Bridgestone Battlewings. Although Metzeler and Heidenau have been far better off-road, Bridgestone still is the long-life choice for me. They have to be "E" series as the others just wear out too quickly. and at that the lack of self control in my right hand won't let me get more than 4k out of a rear so I take it much easier on longer rides. As for rain, they're great and have never left me feeling disconnected. If I had to knock them it would be that too much pavement riding makes for a pretty wide contact patch.
Funny how age has transposed 10/90 into 90/10.

I'm satisfied with the OEM Battlewings and will continue to use them as long as they are available. They are a decent street tire, are OK in the rain and give good tread life. On the downside, they are not much good for real off road riding.

Since I'm a sissy, and don't ride in the rain....I am unable provide any information on that. Sorry.
+ me too!! Only if caught in the rain will I ride in it.

As far as tires I have a set of Michelin Wilds ready to spoon on. If I was only to ride street then it would be a set of the new Michelin Road 5 tires. Right now I'm just wearing the stock tires out on pavement. I ran the Michelin Pilot tires for close to 30,000 miles on my Ninja 650R. IMHO, Michelin makes some of the best tires for any kind of riding you wish.

I sustained a pretty serious injury on my Beta running a 90/10 tire in the dirt. I have vowed to only run aggressive knobby's when venturing off the pavement. For 90/10 riding a Big Block style tire is the only safe way to go. It's that 10% of dirt that hurts when using anything less......

Personally, I’m a 804/805 guy because they’re cheap, easy to mount and competent street or dirt. They will also outlast any knobbly in the big trailie market right now.783C4797-2350-4CA8-9ED3-0AE9924ECCBE.jpeg
