Recommendation screen to me

I had a Givi Airflow on my Versys 1000, pretty effective but looked like it had been hit with an ugly stick and before that, I fitted a Vstream to the ST1300 that I owned back then, so good quality and again, pretty effective. So my loyalty is split between these with the Vstream leading on looks, (I think it really suits the Super Ten), however, there are other screens around like Puig, other Givi screens, etc. so I am calling on your collective knowledge of what suits the Super Ten.

Just for the record, I am 6’2” with 33” inseam. I don’t want a barn door, I still want to feel like I’m riding a motorcycle but without the buffeting that I get from the stock screen on the lower 3 settings, the highest setting is not too bad as long as I have the seat on the lowest setting, but my knees need to take a break more often! Oh yeah, and my bike is a Gen 2 2017 model, I understand there is a difference in fittings between Gen 1 and Gen 2.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm 6' 1" with 34" inseam, and had the Vstream on my Tenere.
I liked it a lot, in the high position, it was great for touring, moving air flow just above my head with no buffeting.
In the low position, it was good for summer riding locally, giving me some air on my face

I used a Calsci on my Gen 1, worked great, now I have a Puig tall screen. works decently enough. Not as well as Calsci, but much cheaper. If I wanted to spend the money I would buy another Calsci. It will all depend on how much you want to spend and availability, we in EU don't get the choice that our brethren get on the other side of the pond so that also makes a difference. I know that many have great success with Parabalum screens that work really well.
I know, not much help, sorry!
One last point, do you have the winglets installed? these make a huge difference.....

Gen2 and I have the stock screen with madstad and the flip up aerofoil from a vstrom screen. Coupled to the winglets it is an effective combination. I can keep my visor open at legal speeds and no buffeting. Oh, I also have mirror extensions fitted, which can have an effect on airflow too. I'm 6'7"ish with 36" inseam.

Buelligan, what size is your Vstream please?

Dogdaze, yes, I have just fitted a pair of Slipscreen winglets, they are exactly the same size and profile as the stock Yamaha, except they are less than half price.

6'4" 33" inseam, now sporting a Vstream touring(the large one) on a Gen2. Currently at 3/4 height wise I think.

Does not look like a barn door so much so me and I can not ride with the visor open up to 55-60mph and be comfortable. I can see see over the windscreen down the road no problem. No weird effect when looking into the screen either.

I also installed the superbraces this week, cant wait to try it out further with no vibrations.

I went with a cheap spolier from eBay, works a treat with winglets and my 5'10 height. I'm with Tallpaul on the effectiveness of mirror extenders, they were invaluable when I had a V-Strom, the mirrors were like sails and deflected the air behind the screen where it caused havoc, it's a very cheap item to add too.

So far I have had the stock, the Yamaha tour, the Puig tour, and now the Vstream tour shields on my bike. The Yamaha tour was not too bad, the Puig was much better and I recommend it, but the best I have used is the Vstream tour. At 6' 1/2" tall it puts me in a nice quiet pocket of air with my seat in the low position. I use the shield in the lowest and the one notch up positions. My inseam is 34". I am super impressed with it. Note I also have the Yamaha side deflectors on my bike. Now if I could only find a setup that works this well on my FJR...

What exactly are these “mirror extenders” ? In the picture I see you have a helmet hanging on each mirror and some other stuff bolted to your bike and windshield that I’ve never seen before.

Thanks TallPaul The extenders look interesting I might have to give them a try. Tried searching for them on eBay but didn’t find them.

Well I added a Laminar Lip to my stock screen. There is no question that this combo puts the air and insects way over my head. One thing it doesn’t do is stop the buffeting and drumming coming from the sides of he screen, so maybe a Vstream will do this?

Anyone with experience of the different Vstrean screens? I think the Sport May be too low and I don’t really want the Tour version, so does anyone have experience of or actually use the middle version, but he Sport/Tour screen?

Had the Touring VStream on my 13 and loved it, very rarely did I have to clean bugs off my faceshield , before the VStream I had to clean bugs off faceshield at every gas stop. For me the VStream was much quieter than the tall Yamaha shield I had before.
So now I have a new 2018 , back to having to clean bugs off faceshield at every gas stop so I will be replacing it with another VStream but not sure which one yet, it might be the Sport Touring one which is about 2 1/2 inches shorter than the Touring model but I’m not sure yet, I always liked the Touring one but often thought 1 inch shorter might work even better for me.

I need to add mirror extenders, looking on ebay (and a few other places). Not sure what I need- too lazy to go out tonight, it is 24, dark, and the bike is covered. Do I need 10 mm bolts, or 8mm? Does one need to be reverse threaded?

TIA-

tried a ton of different shields on a Madstat mount including a Puig touring . I spent a ton of money trying to get the sweet spot where I had ZERO buffering at night highway speeds (70-90mph).

I ended up with the Madstat mount, the stock shield, the winglets and a MRA spoiler. The MRA didn't have choices in different sizes so I don't know how many mm it is. I like it because it is infinitely adjustable. It also clips on so no drilling a high dollar shield.

Over night months of trial and error I learned a lot. The 3 biggest factors to reduce bubble head for me are the winglets, spoiler and helmet. I have 8 helmets, 5 different brands. With my configuration only the Shoei helmets have ZERO bobble. My AGV is unusable as it vibrates to the point it it dizzying, my Sumoy plan sucks to the point that neck pain stops my rides and the HJC bobbles like a Doger Bobble head doll.

If you are trying to get rid of bobble head I would start with winglets. Is that's not enough add a spolier. My main problem with the Puig Touring screen was the height. I was looking through my glasses, my deep down tinted visor, the face shield and then the bones screen. Too much.

In probably assuming too much regarding the bobble head, maybe you just want a spoiler... haha. I would recommend the bolt up MRA

Don't even get me started on which angle to use
