If it were rock damage, it would likely be less uniform. I think mine has some random hits.Once in a million years a rock gets jammed and will do this but I have found it rare
Thank you. Will be removing my rear wheel now and checking everything against a years old post regarding rear wheel replacement. I believe it is the ABS sensor disc. Thank you everyone for your post!I’ve seen this plenty of times. I’m not standing next to your bike but here are a few ideas: It looks like the ABS sensor disc might be in the wrong location. The washer was put on the wrong side. Rear wheel bearing is failing. Problem with rear pads or piston. It’s hitting the pad or the brake carriage. Possibly the axle was installed in a funky order and did not pull that over into the proper location (doubtful). It’s probably one of these type things.

The sensor mounting disc has no doings with that ring. That ring is a decorative plate used as part of what bolts the rotor to the hub. The sensor mounting disc is also the spacer that loads the bearing. It's something outside that, seems most likely the washer got installed in the wrong order. But it should be a visual thing to see what has contacted that disc.Thank you. Will be removing my rear wheel now and checking everything against a years old post regarding rear wheel replacement.
