Hi, one little problem with super tenere rear view mirror, when i ride high speed for a while on open road or in the hills, i start to notice that my rear view mirror moved from its position and i have to keep adjusting it. push it back,. even after i tighten it already, especially the left hand mirror perhaps is a cause from handlebar vibration. It is normal? is there an aftermarket product that i can change or use. Rizoma? or any type of Oring Thank you

I had the same problem with left mirror on 2018, tightening it properly works sort of backwards but after a few times I did finally manage to get it to stay tight where it’s supposed to, overall the views with stock mirrors on a Tenere are not very good, I did add extensions to move mine out a little farther and that did help a little, bought the extensions from eBay after some other forum members recommended them, pretty cheap and easy.

I am having the same issue with my left side mirror. I am looking at the "Double Take Adventure Mirrors"
I had those on a KTM 690 and thought they were near worthless in size, location, and vibration. The new ones from Yamaha are about $54 each so I just go on eBay or Amazon when needing replacements.

I got some off amazon. They looked identical to gen II mirrors. They were worse than the ones I had. I didn’t like the shape of gen II mirrors Got me some gen 1 from rockymtnatv. Digem

I don't like the mirrors too much as like mentioned you see mostly your own shoulder and not much of the road, but mine have never ever needed tightening or moved on their own on the road.

I have the same problem with the left mirror - high speed or rocky terrain, and the mirror comes loose. Mine is a 2016 model. Has Yamaha improved those mirrors in any way lately so that a new stock mirror would be better?

Mine has moved a few times, in spite of cranking down the sleeve that holds it. Next step- mark the location, set in place, then hit it with a few drops of super glue. But not that hard to live with as it is.

I also added extensions to see past my elbows/ shoulders. Skinny folk may not need that.

I will NEVER be referred to as "skinny", but I have had zero issues with my mirror visibility. In the first day or two after I got the bike, the left mirror became loose. As soon as I got home, I adjusted the arm out as far as could, and locked it down. It hasn't moved since. I am a huge believer in turn & look before I change lanes. I've never relied on my mirrors alone.

I've had the same problem with my Gen 2 L H Mirror stem loosening up of its own accord. I happened to mention it to one of my riding buddys, who is a plumber, & he said i should use some PTFE tape wrapped around the threads, which he swore by. They use it on the threaded pipe connection to stop them from leaking.
So he applied 3/4 complete wrappings around the threads, with the tape, & its never moved since.
I too have fitted the mirror extensions to improve the rear viewing area.
Not sure of what you call it over the pond there, but here in the UK, a good turn of the head pointing at least as far as your shoulder is termed a "Lifesaver". It helps to cover some off the areas that your mirrors, can't see.

The left mirror I believe uses a combination of left and right hand threads, once you get it tightened down properly it should stay tight, it took me about three tries to finally get it right and that was about 5,000 miles ago, they haven’t come loose since. Never experienced the loose mirror issue on my previous 2013 and that bike I’m sure had the same tightening system but I never had mirror extensions on the 2013.
