Here's a question from a suspension neophyte; why not the 9" spring and no spacer? Is the 9" just that tiny bit too long?

I installed a 900LB spring along with a spacer from Jaxon on my 2014 Non ES this afternoon and my first impression is quite good. I'm 240 lbs and with about 2/3 of the preload I have about 2.3" of sag. And the damper seems to be able to handle the spring though I'm near max on the rebound adjustment.
A spirited test ride on a familiar back road felt more controlled. It also seems the new rear spring is better balanced with the oem fork springs with the front and rear working more in unison.
Another nice part, the spring swap was a snap. The shock drops out nice and easy and with a cheapo set of spring compressors I was done in an hour.
I must give a big thanks to Jaxon for making the spacer available and the great customer service, none better in that.

Thank you for the information tomatocity and gaps. I am a big dude approx 300 w/o gear. Do you think I should get the 1000 spring with I want to ride 2-up with gear? Also does anyone know the price of the rideonadv spacer? Thanks

I'm 260#, (300 in gear), and have the bike set up for LD touring with a 5 gal fuel cell, 1 gal water and full panniers, plus some more odds and ends. I've been running an 1100 lb spring for 60k miles or so. When the first shock got to 45k or so another forum member very generously offered me his low mile stock shock, so I swapped it over to the stiffer spring and that has about 50k miles on it now and is starting to get noticeably looser in the corners. I'll probably upgrade to custom suspension and have a real suspension shop set up the front end as well. Over due, but budget was too tight in the past.

Over all, the stiffer spring did what I needed it to do and the oem shock seemed to do fine handling it. 50k on an oem shock, I know it's sub-optimal by now. ;)

Are collars still available, and if so what is the price? I'm putting a 900 lb Eibach 8x2.25" Spring on my 2014 Non-ES.

TABASCO has a website and the link to his shop is at the end of every one of his posts.

Been there done that. No mention of spacers on his website, that's why I asked here.
Contact him, either thru his web site or by phone. He's a custom bike builder and machinist... He doesn't have everything he makes shown on his web site. Reminds me, I need to ping him again about Gen II side stand pucks too.

Sorry not to mention what EricV did. We've all been here a long time.

That's the spring I used with one of Jaxon's spacers. There's supposed to be a spring out there that is the correct length, no spacer required.
