Rattling noise front down by front tire?

Ok...so heading for a ride last weekend and got to the end of the block and heard a rattling noise from down by the front tire, so I turned around and went home...removed..checked and put back on the front tire. No noise for at least a couple of hours that I could hears Then OCCASSIONALLY I'd hear it. It's not a consistent noise.....just a tink tink.....tink...then nothing...then maybe a tink...tink again. So was looking more closely this morning at it as someone on the Facebook S10 page suggested looking for a small rock in the spoke tray..also checked spokes. Then I noticed a small rectangular opening to the inside of the hub I'm thinking a small rock got in there and is now from time to time rolling around and banging around in there? Anybody ever have this noise before? I don't think its anything mechanical as its not consistent when I brake or accelerate, and the "tinking" is random...every time I hear it, its different.....Thoughts anybody? Thanks!

If all the spokes are all good, torqued up correctly with no rim cracks & the wheel bearings run OK, then It's time to take the wheel out & investigate further.

Are you running a tyre pressure monitoring system that could have broken loose or a an aftermarket tyre valve? When was the tyre changed - could there be debris within? Could it be the ABS sensor has attracted some road junk (unusual given it's well shielded).

Please keep us posted.

Not running Tire pressure monitors and tire was changed 2 years ago. I'm going to take tire and front end apart except for removing the forks and go through everything again....then see what happens. Its strange....the "tink" comes and goes..its not consistent at all..and it doesn't do it all the time either. Its enough to drive one crazy! Will keep you posted

I believe this is the gent that had the top nut loose on his triple clamp. All fixed.
