Hey would anyone want to go ?
I wanted to have a RTE but I dont have much distance riding time these days with new job and all.
I think this is a good place as cold drinks , Soda's or what ever your choice is .
The location is central and a couple easy hours to Hill Country or a hour from Lockhart if you want to OD on BBQ for the day ( all time depend on how you travel)
Depending on the Temp as to what riding after each to his own and this is a nice lunch for sure !

Pretty Decent BBQ and the cake and pie is good. The waitress's are the long legged pretty kind so check out the site if you want to see the dress code.
I take my wife and daughter here as the wife likes the BBQ Ribs.

My favorite is the sandwiches and BARKY'S STUFFED JALEPEÑOS
All are welcome even if you drive in ::008::

Shall we meet about 10:30 as it opens at 11:00
That way we can get the big table because it almost always busy later

I would like to go, but really depends on the temps. Is there anything nearer 281? Or is that too far for you? ::26::

I was looking at Coopers in Lano but that too may be a bit far on a hot Day
Would be more than Happy to RTE there as ride back can get hot but I live in Round Rock so I miss most the traffic
I do see your point in that You could get there fine but the ride home would be warm after 1pm
But the weekend of the 14th Im looking more for food and service LOL
I want one to Lockhart also but that also would be a hot ride home for you.
There will be more

Yep, I can't wait until fall. I really dislike this heat as it is hard to ride and keep a good attitude. ::025:: I would rather ride in a good rain storm or 30 degree weather.
I rode back from CO week before last and it was HOT. Got to see Pikes Peak just before they shut the roads down.

I have found though it may look weird I carry a water pack / camelpak type backpack and fill it with ice and water. I drain the first water pretty quick and the nadd water , goood for a few hours of the heat and I feel ten times better . Buy one of those cheap ones at wally world and give it a try . If it works for you it can extend the riding time a lot . I wear a mesh jacket and helmet but the heat still sucks the water out of me .
Plus once the ice melts maybe 4 or 5 hour and then you just stop and put a bottle in once in awhile is not as refreshing .
Heat you can only take so much off but the cold can be blocked .
I mostly hide inside till Sept Oct

The Camel Back is a good idea and I have one that I use. It is a 2 liter and I have drank 6 liters in a day. If you use it, it will keep you alive for sure. :)
I have and will ride in the heat, but don't like it and that will not change. I am still waiting for the fall and winter ::012::

Bastard. It's only 1400 miles. I can be there in two days. You're making me hungry. I did a RTE to Dallas for Q earlier this year, going back wouldn't be such a bad thing. Who's got a couch near by?

To be honest if I was riding a long distance I would go 50 miles south and get the best in Texas
Dont get me wrong the food at Bone Daddys is good but the BBQ in Lockhart and Luling south of Austin is in the top list of food I have ever eaten just because its what you think BBQ should be .
Just dam good
Theres good BBQ and great BBQ and then there are those few places that its just beyond that.
I ride a lot of different places and this is above almost all my small sampling of the world so it works for me and all I have taken there.

As far as temp all who live know it will be warm at least and hot is a matter of fact in Texas
I would guess the morning ride would be good there but the afternoon ride home will be hopefully under 100.
As I said it felt good at 88 to 90 on the way home as its been above normal the last few days

I would have to get it approved by my financial adviser and local desk clerk but I know I could get a pass for campers in the yard and I have covered patio with ceiling fans that would work fine lol
I have tents and a cot or air mattress and maybe one couch if I give enough advance notice to the housekeeper .

Nothing fancy but maybe some cool drinks , a small fire pit and few chairs to sit around and watch caveman TV.
Consider it pampered camping lol
Or we have Granger lake about 30 min and georgetown lake a little further
Most of those have or are in the middle of being remoded so nice if that section is open
Its a loose planned RTE

A very nice offer. Sadly, I can't get away. Had some local Q the other day. It wasn't something I'd spit out, but just ok. That particular place believes only Pork is fit for BBQ. I do like some beef brisket myself, along with other fare.

You gents have a great time riding and gathering for some Q & BSing.

Mmmmmmmmm Just got back from Taylor Texas

Louie Muellers BBQ is pretty good as well
Took the family as its a short drive and We tried their chicken and it was just ok,
Brisket was really good , sausage was good but the ribs didnt need anything just pick them up and eat and eat and eat .
I used to not like pork ribs as they dont leave much meat on them around here .
But I started to go to places out a it and they are becoming my favorite meal when away from the city

May I suggest a slightly more daring ride that weekend? Tricepilot on Two Wheeled Texans is hosting the annual BBQ4U...a totally free event funded (so far) entirely by the tip jar. It would be great to have a pack of Super TS show up. See details: http://twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72141
Come on down Friday night, and lounge in the pool Saturday till the worst of the heat breaks.

Not to get off topic but the event is at someones house. I am sure he could care less if you drink and ride or not. I'll bet his worries are that he doesn't need a bunch of drunks pissing off his neighbors late at night, and doesn't need to have anyone that got drunk at his house and wrecked their bike when they left suing him.
