Yes , it is all it's cracked up to be. Lots of curves and elevation changes . The elevation changes are quick and steep. To me it's more like a roller coaster then other states. Plus there are a lot of gravel and paved county roads with quite a few water crossings in the area to ride also. The speed limit for the three sisters ,RR 335,336,337, is at least 55 .OK here is one for the Texas crowd. I keep seeing the twisted sisters come up as fantastic riding. Is it all that it's cracked up to be, and what are the speed limits around the hill country on the twisted sisters.
The yellow speed signs are " suggested" speed limits for the corners . I am no speed demon in the curves by any means but the only curves I take at the suggested speeds are <15. My favorite Texas road is River Road ,FM 170 from Terlingua to Presidio though. Devils highway is curvey but fewer elevation changes per mile compared to the Texas Hill Country. Same as the pig trail. I did notice one thing riding in Arizona ,Utah ,New Mexico. When they say 30mph for a corner you pretty much better be doing that or less. In Texas a you can probably safely double most of them. I DON'T but I usually add 50% to them.
