My buddy and I are leaving July 8th and riding to Antelope Wells and staying the first night in Silver City. I have read or heard about a very sandy road/trail in Wyoming. How bad is it and about how long. I remember it being said it was about 10 miles. I hate deep sand and just want a heads up before I hit it. Besides possibility of snow in the high passes, what other obstacles can you tell me about? Thanks in advance.

We did the CDR back in 08, no we were not on ST's but I can assure you, had I had one I would have rode it. It is pretty easy, there are bypasses for all the "hard" sections.

RE: "It is pretty easy, there are bypasses for all the "hard" sections. "

I am interested in doing the CDR but I do want to avoid single track and technical sections. I don't have much dirt experience and would like to limit myself to gravel two-track (or pavement if/when required).

Can someone recommend a GPX nav file that include the 'easy' bypass options?
