Who do you use for breakdown and personal cover whilst riding in the EU?

I’m off to the Picos in a few weeks and need some cover, but obviously needs to be motorcycle specific, as most standard policies exclude bikes. Although my current EHIC card is still valid, some extra personal cover is imo sensible.

I have always had Carole Nash cover for home and EU countries, but I have changed my insurance this year to Bennett’s so I am hoping that breakdowns are covered too, I need to check, I’m going on Saturday!

Been with CN for bike insurance & breakdown for a few years now but the renewal price was ridiculous so I’ve just moved. Breakdown with my new broker is still with Axa (which is who CN uses). Travel insurance was more challenging but wifey got on to that! We looked at CN, which came in at between £125 and £155 for couple multi trip cover. Tried Voyager but different websites indicated they weren’t issuing new policies at the moment (?). Someone recommended Tesco so looked into that and got multi trip for a couple that included using the motorcycle as a means of transport (not a dangerous activity add on!) and just took out a policy with decent cover for £110. Hope this helps.

I checked my insurance with Bennett’s and it covers me for breakdown and recovery in U.K. and the EU. Interesting that ooh and xtine changed from CN due to the cost, it was the same reason I changed earlier this year. CN always managed to match other quotes that I had but not this time.

In the past CN have always matched the lowest quote elsewhere, but this year they wouldn’t budge a penny and the difference was £60 for exactly the same Markerstudy insurance policy and Axa European breakdown. Maybe they don’t want the business?
