Well I've had an S10 for almost 6 years now and its time for a change.
Choice, choices thought about KTM 1190, Triumph Tiger Explorer XC and 800XCA. I Rode the very impressive CRF 1000L Africa Twin ABS and DCT and Tiger 800, I really liked the Africa twin, so I have put down a deposit on a 60th Anniversary Super Tenere, just could not go past it so the XT1200ZES it is. :)

THIS!!!!!!!

Although my admiration for this machine leads to praise-ad-nauseam, you just described why I am not a Kool-Aid cheerleader.
Regardless of how it likely appears. ::)

Congrats. In Canada the 60th anniversary models are yellow 2016's.I bought the S10 over the others just to get cruise control. The roads were sort of dry the other day so I went for a short ride and put it in cruise. Works just like a car does.

Congrats...I'm assuming it's a 2016 Yellow bike. Does it come with ES in Australia?
It certainly is a Yellow ES, the Z is black. I asked about the 2017model they will be released when all the 15/16 models are gone here. It I do like the yellow and black.

I like my Yellow one. Every time I park to get a snack or something to drink, there is always someone next to it waiting to ask me questions. Never happened with my black '12.

Pretty much the list I went through. Same conclusion, except mine is a blue ES. Just think of the fun you are missing playing with the AT chain!
They do look like fun off the pavement. The yellow is sharp.

I presently own a 2015 tiger 800XCX that I love riding. Cruise control was a big plus. The engine is a blast to spin up with my Yosh pipe and I have it nicely farkled out. However, I just can't stand chain maintenance. Especially living right on the coast where it rust overnight. So much so that I have been looking to go back to a 2016 standard Tenere. Other reasons too. I had 2012 that I enjoyed and always kept checking in here over the years. I traded the Tenere for an 2013 FJR that I just could never get comfortable with. Great on the highway but always had to correct my line and keep her leaned over in turns. Not much fun. Tried two brands of recommended tires, but same thing. Anyway, we'll see if I get the Tenere. The Tiger is a fine machine with absolutely no issues so far. Knock on wood.

Wanted the 60th Anniversary, but also wanted an ES. (And as we know, we can't have both in the USA.) Didn't want black, so ended up with a Cobalt '17 ES. It looked good on the showroom, but when the sun hit that pearl paint.... ;D

I enjoyed my ride on th 800 but as an over all deal the S10 was the better change over. I could have just as easily gone down the Triumph route but on this deal at this time and dealers considered the Yamaha was the go.

Your decision to stay with the Super Tenere says a lot about the model. I sure have enjoyed my 2015 with 15,000 kms on it. My other machine sat except for the really long rides so I have now sold it. Here is a wish for many safe, fun, and happy riding memories on your new purchase.
