I will be concluding my first winter in Arizona soon, and it has been everything I expected and more. This is a great area to ride, and the S10 is a great ride for the area. I was fortunate to ride with GV550 (Garry), who has logged many miles in this area. On my last ride with him yesterday, I threw out the idea of a winter rally here in the Phoenix area, and he suggested we through it out and see what interest there might be. Given the brutal weather many of you suffered through, we thought there may more than a few who would want to trailer out and do some "off season" riding. The area has diverse riding from paved mountain canyons to Forest Roads to more technical rocky/sandy trails. Rocky water crossings exist with sufficient rain or snow melt. You can go from the Desert to Forest in about an hour. Not real familiar with camping in the area, but I know there are a lot of different options.

So, any interest??

I'm likely "in" unless it's scheduled in my blackout (first week of the month). I'm usually either passing through or in Puerto Peñasco monthly.

Count me in, and I can help put it together if needed.
I plan to be in Apache Junction, AZ by Nov 1 so can scout out a venue if we can agree on the needs and desires.
January this year was record cold, and we had lots of rain in February. March would be the best bet for weather but millions of other northerners know that too so the trails and roads get quite crowded.
It would be great to get a dozen bikes lined up for a photo op on this ledge!AZ 042.JPG

Interested but might have to use a lighter bike depending upon route. Normally I'm in the area from Dec - Apr.

Sooooo how far would it be really from this to Copper Canyon in Mexico? Google says 1000 miles and about 13 hours riding.
I'll be retired by then (already retarded) and always wanted to ride Copper Canyon.

I live in the area too, but have to work still.

Planning a copper Canyon run in March with some buddies, figuring on an 8 day round trip for that.

Also watch for cows, lots of free range out here
