When it comes to adding aftermarket stuff and doing any mods, I've become more about function than fashion at the age of 53. I was doing some off-road stuff awhile back and there was some snow in the higher elevation. It got a little "hairy" and I went down. The shifter was pushed up pointing towards the seat and, bent the shift rod. I replaced it and did the folding shifter mod. Mine is different than the one above and doesn't have the pivot option. I don't have size 14 feet though. I really like it.

Yes it did up being a "fashion mod". My whole point of getting the Wunderlich shifter and IMS was for comfort and function. Now after putting some miles on the bike I found it was an expensive mistake. Those pegs sure did feel nice standing on a few bikes in camp at a rally though LOL.

I'm also taking off my adventure pegs that are mounted on my Beta. After going to that Jimmy Lewis riding school I've realized I'm having to put back on my moto pegs, remove the gimmicky "Steg Pegz", and remove the bar risers.

My buddy who has a Super Tenere has gave me the heads up as well. I was told it's very important to check them anytime the bikes takes a nap. Is it possible they might have been cracked before they broke? I surly hope you were not hurt. That would suck a foot coming straight down!! Thank you much for the feedback.
The OEM footpeg on my last S10 broke off after I dropped the bike going about 2 mph. Happily the replacement was only about $25 new.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman.

Seriously, somewhere around here is a photo of the fracture surface when I did the same tip-over and the peg broke. The pegs are cast aluminum and it was shocking how porous the castings are, especially since I stand on them on gravel.

That’s when I went to the Pivot Pegs, because their axle is a machined bar.

I'm betting it's the suddeness of a crash. Like lifting a weight. Can't lift it slowly, but if you snatch it up . . . .
