...EVERYBODY -- YOU DO REALIZE that every scoot that will be under our collective butts have been run through the gears (*think factory dyno'd*)
before the bike is crated and sent. That means you folks that wanna take it easy peasy on these new mills need to look only as far as the major manufacturer
and what they do to YOUR new scoot when they turn the key on one of the last things done before shipment.
They'll run through the gears just like it had 20K miles on it.
So play the games ya want to with the bike once ya get it - break it in how you wish...just know that Mother Yammy is gonna bring it hard on your scoot
when your baby comes off the line for good.

I've never seen anything definitive on exactly what is done at the factory. Some have reported that the engines are run "dry" (spun with electric motors) just to do a mechanical check and to avoid having the bikes sit fueled in warehouses. Others have reported that the engines are run briefly prior to assembly and not run after assembly. Yet others say that the bikes get a brief dyno run under power, but VERY brief and not anywhere near full power, then they are de-fueled. And someone else reported that only a few bikes out of a batch are pulled off the line and given a thorough check.

I think you can say for certainty that the engines are not fully broken in on the dyno, at least not in this category of bike.

When I have gone through the Honda plant in Ohio, all (everysingle one) of the ATV's and Bikes were ran through the gears. I wouldn't say it was a dyno run, and it wasn't any longer than 30-45 seconds each time while checking to make sure all the gears shifted, and all electrical components worked properly. This was only what my eyes saw about 15 feet away while on a tour of the place.
The Goldwing engines would come in unassembled kits to the factory from Japan, then be assembled there, placed into the bikes, then ran at the end as mentioned earlier.
