I have a ram mount clamped to the handle bars of both my super tenere and wr250r. They make an x-grip that comes with a rubber mesh that grabs the corner of the phone. I use oneof my SAE power cables from the battery to run a battery tender 5V USB outlet to charge the phone. On the tenere I run the cable from the windshield bracket to the center of the bars and wrap it there. that way full ock turns don't move the cable much and it's strain relieved.

This ^ I also installed a euro receptacle on the left dash

By the way, my samsung note 8 fits perfectly. It doesn't interfere with my line of sight of the cluster. Also, the rubber mount wraps around the phone for redundancy. I can adjust the phone position either vertically or horizontally. :)

Mine is mounted on the accessory bar.

RAM-HOL-PD3 - RAM® Quick-Grip™ Universal Phone Holder
RAM-B-201U-A - RAM® Double Socket Arm
RAM-B-408-37-62U -
RAM® Torque™ Small Rail Base
I have a similar setup but handlebar mounted, works great and is out the way of gauge cluster/ GPS mounted on center of handlebar/ and wind/ bugs/ flying debris. Stays put and is easy enough to remove.
