Petition Against 20mph speed limit in Wales

I wish someone could catch all the car drivers that are constantly texting or fiddling with sat navs etc.
Texting is WAY more dangerous than speed and over here in UK there are SO many people texting whilst driving that it is quite unbelievable.

I saw a food delivery scooter rider go round a roundabout in front of me with one leg hanging down, cranked right over, one hand on the bars and texting with the other hand.
Those guys must have superior training..

I regularly ride through London (most of it is 20mph now) and I always stick to the speed limit. Whilst sticking to 20mph I am constantly being overtaken by cyclists!!
It's nuts and OF COURSE..it's all about revenue collection

Its actually about the air quality.

speed limits are an effort to protect the masses from death and destruction ... but people are people and make their own choices , lawyers depend on it . so many in central Texas just drive what ever speed suits their mood . no regard for others ...
so the 20 mph speed limit here is usually about school zones and are not constant but active just certain hours of the day when drop off or pick up of children is happening in the school day. rest of the time the limit goes back to its normal 30 or 35 posted limit .
there are area's that are long and straight and an artificially low limit ( Klien rd. New Braunsfel Texas ) 3 miles long divided 4 lanes posted at 30 mph limit . revenue maker by design . some cruise control want even activate at that low of a speed . and they enforce it . just a moment of not being diligent and its "sign here please " . that's government that's how it is by nature .... the remedy for stupid government is new people replacing the idiots that caused the stupidity. but that's what's wrong here and probably there as well , same people with the same bad ideas stay in office . vote people , use your brains .
so when I saw the signs being destroyed it made me chuckle . Boston tea party was like that ... a very American response to tyranny , 20 mph enforcement can be a tyranny. there are some athletes that can break that limit on foot. or a cycle rider . select enforcement is wrong . I say keep up the protest till reason prevails over tyranny . Let Freedom Ring , even in Wales.

For anyone living in North Wales. Go safe camera Van's will be out tomorrow. Sunday 17th December prosecuting motorists doing 26 mph in the new 20 mph areas. I find it hard doing 30 mph.20 mph is like dead slow.The money that has been wasted on this could of been spent on the National health service in Wales.

I think the problem with 20MPH zones is that the Welsh Government, the Senydd, introduced the legislation but the local councils decided where the 20MPH zones should be. I agree with the lower speed limit outside schools, playgrounds, hospitals, etc, but the current mess shows all the signs of being designed by a committee.
MPH zones have been in place for quite some time in Wales at least and I speak from the experience of being caught twice within 2 years and having to attend a speed awareness course once and £100 fine and 3 points on my licence the second time. I was doing 26MPH one time and 25MPH the second time. For the record, an acquaintance of mine was caught in the same area doing 38MPH and he collected 6 penalty points and a £600 fine.

We have a highway, down around the Austin area. The posted speed limit is 85mph. I-10, West of Kerrville, is posted 80mph. I- 20/30, through the city limits of Ft. Worth are posted 70mph. And I-94 in Montana is another posted 80mph.
