Perplexing Issue!

Question for the group: I have a 2015 Tenere which was just recently reflashed by Anthony. I had it previously flashed by AF1 Racing here in Austin but was never happy with the results. Anthony's flash was much smoother, less popping on decel etc. The issue is that I can't seem to be able to reset the clock or access the "Menu" by holding the left side "trigger" menu switch. It shifts between the heated grip menu and the others menus just fine, but when I hold it down for two+ seconds, it doesn't ever enter the menu settings like is detailed in the manual. That is the correct procedure to access the settings menu, isn't it??

The only recent change was to the reflash but I consulted with Anthony and he didn't think anything he changes in the ECU would modify that aspect of the bike. Anybody ever had this issue? Any thoughts on what it might be? I certainly don't mean to impugn Anthony's work which really smoothed out the on/off throttle response and reduced any popping on decel. It's the only thing that I've changed anytime recently so I couldn't help but question if the flash might've changed some parameter related to the dash menu settings.

Thanks!

Yes, it sounds correct, strange...
Engine must not be running, but I guess you know that.

Are you sure? I thought I adjusted my clock, and the engine was running. You have to get to the page that has the whole list of stuff. Scroll down to clock, and pull the trigger. I'm going have to go, and look to be sure though.

Just went and checked. On the page with the temp. . . . pull the trigger. . . . suspension came up. . . . pull, and hold trigger. List comes up. (maintenance, brightness, etc) Scroll down to clock, and pull trigger. Adjust. Now, if yours doesn't work that way. . . . then yes something is amiss. BTW, motor was running. I don't like to have the key on without the engine running.

Apologies if this is what you explained. To me it sounded just a little different.

Those buttons lots of times don’t work very well on my 2018 but after a couple tries they usually do work.

Have you tried it with the ignition on and the engine not running? I'd test it for sure. I know you can't access the menu with the bike moving.

Could it be because the low fuel trip is active. And won’t let you navigate the menu?
I'm guessing low fuel also as evidenced by the Trip-F on the dashboard, fill'er up and check after a few miles....
I used to think that the screen wouldn't change until I filled it. I was wrong. Low fuel just automatically brings up that screen. The "rocker" switch will cycle through the screens just like normal.

Thanks guys. Appreciate your comments. I'll try starting it, putting some gas in it and any other combo that might get access to that menu. Never had an issue with this in the past but you really don't access that much except to set the clock.

That is the key I think. I had to check because I wasn't for sure. . . . 'cuz I don't access much of anything but the compression/rebound setting(s).

Hmm, isn't it also there you also access the maintenance log, heatet grip settings, another time trip, display brightness and maybe a couple more?

Just went out and rest my clock. Worked fine, Anthony flash. I did have an issue a month or so ago, but I probably forgot about the 2-3 second hold. When I could not get out of the menu, I finally just shut it off.

Y'all are both right. Sometimes she has a mind of her own. I'll swear that I am pushing the right buttons, the right way, and yet she won't cooperate. And, then. . . . the next time. . . . same buttons. . . .same way. . . . and it works just fine.

What did you not like about the AF1 flash? I am asking because they are only 2 hours away from me and I am hesitant to ship my ecm to Anthony for fear of it getting lost in the mail and then getting a new one.

If I were doing mine again, I would have him move the original Sport mode to Touring, and I like his Sport mode as is. I never use the touring mode before or after, but recognize some occasions were more engine braking is nice.
