I recently ordered a Pelican 1400 to use as a top box. Because I didn't want all the foam inserts (just the box, maam), I ordered direct from CPD Industries.

CPD ships via FedEx Ground and they require a signature. After the first failed delivery attempt, I left a note on the door with my signature. But that wasn't good enough for the delivery dude. Now I get to drive to the FedEx hub to pick my package up on Saturday. ::007::

I don't know if they will ship without requiring a signature, but its worth asking the question. PITA! OK - I have vented and feel better.

I'm an Amazon Prime member.
And I order daily from them. (Groceries even)

I also live at the end of a 2 1/2 mile Dead end street.
Many days I am the only recipient for a UPS package. Thus, a 5 mile ride for the UPS man.

He is a really good dude. Never complains. He even drives down my long drive into the woods and drops at the back porch. Says hi to the weenier dogs and heads out.

Then I get a text stating I have received the package and what it is.

The Fed Ex guy?
Drops it off on the ground beside my gate. If I don't look for it, I'll drive right past it.
He will put it in a plastic bag if it rains though. So I shouldn't complain too much.

I love brown. They treat me like they appreciate my business.

USPS?

Oh heck, don't get me started. That lady HATES me, I think.
Hates dogs.
Hates my mailbox.
Hates my driveway. (Don't know why. She won't use it)

I have had success exploiting the FedEx buyout of Kinko's.

I have my must sign for packages diverted to the Kinko's branch between work and home for pick-up. They are open late enough for me to get there after work, or Sat, or Sun.
