Hi. Just joined yesterday and have never written in to a forum before. Just wondering if anyone out there with Super Teneres have their women riding with them and what the women's comments are on air protection and ride comfort. Hope this subject hasn't come up before and I am repeating, but I am new to forums and not very handy with using them.

I'm going to Alaska next summer on my Super Tenere (blue). Every day until May feels like a year.

This is one of my concerns as well. My wife is "somewhat" happy on the back of my FJR and I'm hoping that the S10 is not a step backward for passenger comfort. At this stage, I plan to keep the FJR, but if I find the S10 does everything for me that I expect it to - I need to make sure it does it all OR more for her as well, in case I do decide to sell the FJR.

:)

Welcome eemsreno! I have a blue ST on order as well, and been wondering about passenger comfort. Let's hope we get some positive feedback :)

Colorider,

I'm coming from an FZ1 and my wife hated riding on the back of it (the few times she did). I have to believe the ST will be better than that, but have been wondering about things like passenger seat backs, adjustable rear pegs, etc.

Old Git Ray rides two up on his S10 and IIRC, his wife is quite happy with the passenger accommodations. Not sure if he is on this forum, but if he is I am sure he will confirm this. My wife rides her own bike so two issues do not apply to me. But the wait is so very long!

Bob,
Yes, the backrest is a "given" as my wife is paranoid about having something behind her. I will have a top box of some sort (not sure what brand yet). I plan to have side bags as well so their placement and that of the rear pegs is important to her overall comfort.

it looks like it should be good overall comfort for pillions. I wish my wife even wanted to ride on the back.....not a chance from her!!!

The XT1200Z is for me and my comfort ... the pillion comfort requirement is secondary to non existent on this particular machine. I'll keep the FJR for the purpose of hauling ladies around .... cos let's face it I don't want a fella that close to me ;D

I did a test ride for like less than 15 minutes (some freeway). Followed another rider with his wife 2up and watched the suspension, it handled the load easily and had plenty of get up and go also.

I also plan on going to Alaska on my S10 next year hopefully. Just need to get it in time to farkle and iron any bugs out.

There's an Aussy guy named "Old Git Ray" on the Advrider forum who says he rides two up all the time on his Super Tenere. He goes tarmac and off road with his wife and claims the bike is fine with it and so is she. I will be riding one up only so not a concern for me.
