Here are some more shots showing the relationship of the OEM side bags and GIVI 52L on the Altrider plate. The GIVI would need to move back about 5" for the side cases to clear it.

Does anyone make a higher rear rack that allows the side cases to open with the Givi top box installed?

After our summer trip I moved mine back just about the 5" that you mention to give Karen a bit more room on the pillion. There is actually a difference in the box location between my 2 photos.

I slightly modified the OEM rack to carry the Givi mounting plate by making an adapter plate of 3/4" thick HDPE. The white HDPE is visible and the same nearly indestructible material used for kitchen cutting boards, although most cutting boards are 1/4" to 1/2".

I have TT panniers (38/45 L) and a Givi top box from previous bikes with altrider rack. No problems. Both lids open easily. ;D ::015::
