With everything closed around here I decided to make a couple mods to my panniers. A few weeks ago my 5 year old grand daughter climbed up on the Bike from the right side while it was on the side stand and over it went and landed on the right pannier scratching it up, she was lucky it didn’t land on her. With an upcoming trip to the Artic circle in July there is a chance I will prob drop the bike at some point so I decided to order some 1/2” HDPE in textured black and make some sliders to protect the panniers. I also routed out around the hinges so they are protected also. At least if it falls over or gets dropped they should help protect the sides of the panniers. I also added a combination running and brake light to each pannier with waterproof quick connectors for easy removal of the panniers. Will the wiring inside the saddle bag be affected by stuff you put in? Can you take a picture of inside the bags?
Looks good!
