I have the Nomad set of panniers with large top case. I am looking to paint them black or maybe wrap them? Anyone have any experience with painting or wraping them? Curious to know your results
Thanks

This may be a bit off the wall, and maybe a bit costly for something as big as a pannier, but I wrapped a 4" square fence post cover with the "Seen on TV" gutter, etc. sealing tape. The stuff sticks like nothing I've ever used (makes it hard to position) but it's added quite a bit of durability to the plastic "tube" I'm using for a tool box.,

Wrapping is becoming the "thing" to do. If you get it professionally done, you can get graphics on the vinyl. You can get "rattle can" spray wrap in just about any color you want. Both versions of wrap are relatively easy to repair, and if you go to sell the case, you peel the wrap and you're back to original color/surface. Also, wrap is usually cheaper than a good paint job.

To echo Sierra1, I have used both and I think either are decent options, but Plasti Dip in the rattle can is by far the easiest. Goes on easy, peels off clean. Vinyl is tricky to work with and doesn't come off as easy as Plasti Dip, but it is more durable than Plasti Dip (or at least can be if you use pro grade).

If you have curves, bumps, etc. then vinyl can be a pain to work with. Go slow, use heat, be careful. Plasti Dip goes on easy and can be built up to hide imperfections. If I can find some pictures of one of my old dipped bikes I'll post it for reference.

Update: this is the only picture I could find. I've Plasti Dipped a whole bike before, but this picture is only of the forks
