Packtalk channels

Hi, I recently added a Garmin XT to my bike. I have it paired to the PT on one Bluetooth Channel on the Packtalk and I have the second Bluetooth channel paired to a Senna SM-10 BT dongle to which I have my radar detector connected via a hardwire.

My problem is that if the XT is playing music to my PT on one channel, it ignores the output from the SM-10 on the other channel. If I pause the music, I can then hear the radar detector via the SM-10. I would like the channel carrying the output from the SM-10 to take priority when the radar detector alerts.

I’ve tried putting the XT on channel 1 and the SM-10 on channel 2 and vice versa. I’ve also tried pairing the SM-10 as a phone or as a GPS. Always the same result, no radar alert if music is playing, pause the music and the RD comes through loud and clear. I would be happy even if I could hear the RD simultaneously without interrupting the GPS.

Is there a way to prioritize one Bluetooth channel over the other one on the Packtalk?

A bit of a long shot but have you tried pairing the SM10 to the XT as a phone?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I actually did try that (after I posted initially) but the XT can’t see the SM10 with both in pairing mode. I tried several times and everything just times out.

I also tried pairing the SM10 to my iPhone. The iPhone sees the SM10 but won’t pair with it and I receive a message saying it is not supported.

Why not play music from your phone? You need it for the smart link etc anyway. And there is a priority menu on the Zumo where you can choose satnav or intercom which may help?

I can play music from my phone but the same problem occurs, that is, the SM10 is ignored while it’s playing, the same as if playing MP3s from the XT.

As far as I know, there’s no menu item for sat nav vs. intercom on the zumo.

Yeah my problem is I’ve got this useless jelly stuff where my brain should be. The priority menu is on my Cardo app not the Zumo

Ha, ha! Yes, OK, and if you’re using the communicator, you really have to leave intercom as the priority, which is the default setting.
