Anyone else have Oxford Heated grips installed on a 2016 Tenere? My bike has a different throttle body than my 2013 did and won’t allow the Oxford to be mounted in the correct orientation. It interferes with the throttle body. Only other way to mount it would be for the wire to come out of the top instead of the bottom like it should. Also when it’s in the bottom position as you twist the throttle the cord runs the brake lever and kinda hangs up. Looks like the top is the only way to make it work. Anyone have any other ideas?

Where it’s supposed to mount

Or like this but it hangs up on the front brake lever

Best way I can see to mount it

I'm interested in seeing what the group's recommendations are. I've installed Oxford's on two other motorbikes and each had to be oriented differently to avoid clutch or brake lever interference, but nothing like what you are showing. The throttle issue is a new one. The other option I could see maybe working is to flip the throttle cable housing around so it operates from under the handlebars. I think that's been done on the S10 to deal with taller handlebars and throttle cable length issues. Otherwise, your orientation from the top seems like the only option. Like you, I'd like to see if there's another solution.

I installed on a 2015 and had a similar issue. I went with your second picture where you say it hangs up on the brake. I think I adjusted my brake lever out a little and mine works fine. I can't seem to find pictures right now though.....

The only solution I can see is to cut the end of the grip off by about 8mm so it doesn't interfere with the throttle housing.. Then don't slide the grip all the way in against the housing.. Do a few dry runs before final fitting though.

You could get a black washer like the standard one thats between the throttle grip and the housing, about 5/6mm like the oem one already on there to fill the gap and act as a spacer.

The heating elements don't extend to the far outside end of the grip.. So you could be fine trimming the end of the grip.

I have the same bike with the same blistering fast yellow paint, and the same Oxford Adventure grips.
I mounted the grip with the wire pointing forward and above the lever as in your 4th photo, and installed Grabon foam grip covers for added comfort so the upside down Oxford logo isn't visible. This does look a bit industrial on an already tough looking bike and with the throttle wide open the wire sticking up does add some wind resistance but the super fast paint more than compensates. ;D
I have Oxford grips on my other bike with the wire down and dragging on the brake lever as I twist the throttle, and after a few years the wire pulled out of the grip so don't do that.
