I have caught my credit card trying to escape a few weeks ago. Then last week it was searching roommates.com in attempts to move out. Now, yesterday, I was served with a restraining order from my VISA?!?!? Well, it can't hold me back for long! I will purchase a crashbar....and then some skid plate! oh the list goes on....my credit card will be melted away to nothing by the time I have finished!

So, what is on your list of goodies to add to your S10? brand? what will ya buy first? what will ya put off? all you lucky EU peeps, what have your purchased?

My list:
- SWM crashbars
- SWM skid plate
- new gear (helmet, jacket, pants)
- aux lights
- Thinking Givi tail E52 or 55 for around the street (like the extra tail lights)
- panniers, still up in the air...really like metal mule, but thats some high dollar stuff. also not sure it would mesh well with teh givi (at least not sure if I will be able to get in and out of them with the Givi on there.
- heated grips
- new tires

i'm going to keep it simple. the immediate list includes:

- skid plate
- crash bars
- panniers
- tank bag

i have no idea of the vendors for these, but sometime around february i'll start investigating in earnest. i'd like to see the folks at happy trail (http://happy-trail.com) make some panniers (mounts anyway). i was very pleased with the setup on the strom. we'll see what happens.

I don't intend mine to be pretty bike ... just functional. Mine has all the Special Edition bits ... all of use. Damage limitation is the next on the list and I have much of that. Tank bag yes .... one of those SW-Motech quick release things. Gear indicator always useful. Akrapovic zorst. There'll be plenty more I'm sure ....

Is someone making a gear indicator for the S-10? I have the Gipro on my Versys and like it.

This is easy for me. I never add or subtract from a motorcycle. Every motorcycle I buy stays stone stock. As boring as this sounds I insist on it, and it's why I am forced to buy new always as no one else obides by my rule. :) I'm hoping I like it stock, if not I don't try to tailer it, I sell it. I may get a soft tail bag, like the Wolfman Wolf Tail that ties on, but that's it. My luggage system for 30 years has been cardboard boxes bungied to the seat behind me on a KZ650, I guess I can upgrade from cardboard possibly.
I am this way with cars, but bikes are just so...moddable. You start small and then...$$$

Good for you, your willpower is commendable.

I looked at the Healtech web site and they make one for other Yami bikes including the FJR so I'm sure there will be one for the S-10.

Where it states that they are for a specific bike is merely a reference to the fact that they've created a specific transitional interface unit (plug n play). In fact you can fit them to pretty much any bike .. you just have to access the loom at a convenient point and splice it in. They provide scotchlocks for this purpose with full simple to follow 'destructions' ... Do I mean instructions ;D

Will the Yami and SWmotech bars fit on the bike, or do you plan on modding them?

They are selling the "world crosser" mods? donde?

It isn't clear if you can kit-bash the two crash bars into one unit. Wasp from ADVrider is working on something along those lines so maybe that's the way I will go.

RE: world crosser mods, I would hope that Yamaha would have a line of accessories for the bike. But just how practical the carbon panels would be on a bike you may ride off-road is open for debate.

Other stuff for me:

TOp Box :Traxx, Yamaha, or Pelican
Skid Plate: SW Motech
Heated Grips: OxFord or Yamaha????
TKC 80's

Orange Decals to mimic the Yamaha Pattern on the tank!!!

On the FUn Side: Milk Crate for fresh Milk, Stroller attachment, and Car-Seat Base

Adding engine guards, bash plate & SOFT saddle bags(had Jesse hard one's on a GS1200 --broke my leg under one in deep sand). Have an ancient tank bag. Any soft bag recommendations out there? Thanks.

On one of the Advrider threads, there was a posted pic of some Givi engine guards that looked better than all the others IMHO. they are beefy and burly. I'm sure I'll change my mind 20 times before the bike gets here about many items though.

DoctorJ, do you have a pic of these GIVI racks? I don't see them anyplace. After visiting ALT Rider here in Seattle today and sitting on the bike, I might use them. I will have to wait and see what they are going to come up with and function.
