My son and I have been on the road since early December only returning home for xmas then back for New Years and off again.

Our adventure started when We flew to pick the bike up from near Gympie in Qld heading home to load up then we headed down the sth coast the Pambula and up into the snowies down to the vic high country back to the snowies and home for xmas.

Boxing Day we headed off again to do omeo mt beauty my hotham and any other road we could find until it was time to head back home for New Years.

After news year (2nd Jan) we headed off again our plan was to go to Uluru we got as far as Renmark in s.a but decided to head back to vic through the grampians and up the great ocean road to Bairnsdale where we are tonight.

We plan to go back up in the snowies then over to ulludulla to meet up with some friends and go water skiing ect until around next Friday when we will head for home.

I purchased the S10 with 8000ks serviced it at 10k put 2 new tyres at 10300k (tourance nexts)and rode the shit out of the thing. I had the oil and filter changed at 15600 as I though I would be up around the 23000 when I returned from Ayers Rock and didn't want it to go that long without an oil change.

The bike sits here now with 18913 ks and has given me pretty much no trouble(only had a couple of starting issues here and there just turned ignition off and back on and it starts ok) and it has this very very annoying wine noise which I am going to get the dealer to investigate further it drives me farming crazy sometimes.

I have owned well over 30 bikes from hyabusa's GSXR1000's R1's and a fat boy and this s10 would have the be the best all round bike ever.

It does most of what you can do Oallen the bikes I have owned

I have done 98% of the 10,000ks fully loaded (well over the max weight recommended by Yamaha) and had a ball on the bike. I chased a guy up the great ocean rd on a Buell today when we stopped after about 30 minutes he rambled on for 15 how hard it was to get past me and how I stayed with him while fully loaded he said he is going to buy a s10 lol.

Anyway you guys all own them you all know how good they are just thought I would share some of my thoughts

I only purchased this bike to do this trip and was going to sell it after but I am thinking of keeping it now

PS DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ANYONE WINE AT AROUND 80 kph to 110

Great memories! No whine on mine. Does it make it when it's unloaded too?

I took the bash plate off it's still there

I don't think it's from the shaft it more sounds like from under the tank or the right side

The great ocean road is a GREAT ocean road!

Don't know what it's like now, but in May it was virtually empty. Light traffic. And the stunning places to stay are empty. (kookaburra cottages)

Thanks for stirring the memories.

Re Whine. Record said whine and post it up..

Maybe the Tenere has too much character.
